Fashion Month has officially kicked off, and once again, New York City is leading the charge to launch four weeks of Spring-Summer 2025 collections, ahead of London, Milan, and Paris.
New players are stepping into the spotlight, vying for their slice of the Big Apple’s fashion stage
With over 60 confirmed runway shows and a myriad of off-schedule events, the city is buzzing with excitement.
While the official catwalks don’t start until September 6th, NYC has already been in a frenzy for days.
Notable events included Ralph Lauren’s decision to showcase in his beloved Hamptons, and Proenza Schouler, who decided to present their collection ahead of schedule.
FASHION SHOWS
The first official day, Friday, September 6th, will spotlight some of the city’s freshest and most promising young talents.
Area will have the honor of kicking off the event, followed by Collina Strada and Willy Chavarria, making his debut. Later in the day, Alaïa’s Pieter Mulier will bring the maison back to New York to present the Winter/Spring 2025 collection.
What surprises lie ahead this Fashion Week?
For the first time, Off-White will be part of the American calendar. However, some of New York’s milestone names, like Helmut Lang, Thom Browne, won’t be showing this season, same for Puppets and Puppets, as they take their collections across the pond to London.
Monday, September 9th, promises to be the chicest day of the week, with Carolina Herrera and Tory Burch taking the stage.
And finally, the cherry on top—2023 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner Melitta Baumeister will close the week on Wednesday, September 11 ensuring it ends on a high note.
