PHILIP GAY’S “REWIND” AT ELLIA GALLERY, PARIS

Renowned fashion photographer and STXDYOZ contributor, Philip Gay, presents a retrospective at Ellia Gallery in Paris on March 21st. The exhibition promises a comprehensive exploration of Gay’s career, showcasing his evolution as a photographer within the fashion landscape.

Central to the exhibition are Gay’s polaroids and portraits from fashion shoots spanning the years 2001 to 2011, originally featured in publications such as i-D, Purple, Arena Homme Plus, V, Mixte, Vogue and Zoo, with the likes of Hannelore Knuts, Olga Sherer, Jarvis Cocker, Clement Chabernaud, Eliza Cummings, Angela Lindvall, Pascal Greggory, Irina Lazareanu and Sean Lennon.

In addition to his archival works, “Rewind” will provide insight into Gay’s creative process with the presentation of old contact sheets, offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the making of his images. Furthermore, visitors will have the opportunity to experience Gay’s more recent explorations in fashion photography, including his latest contribution to STXDYOZ, featuring Kati Nescher. The exhibition will also showcase larger prints of his erotic fashion stories featuring models such as Natasa Vojnovic, Klara Kristin, Michelle Laff and Newton’s muse Sylvia Gobbel.
